Course Deferment / Transfer / Withdrawal Policies

Students who wish to defer any of their modules or transfer courses need to submit their request in writing. All relevant forms and documentation must be filled in and submitted to studentcare@acc.edu.sg for review.If the student is under 18 years of age, the parent/guardian must also submit his/her written consent. Any requests for deferment or transfer made verbally will not be considered.

The maximum processing time of requests for deferments or transfers is not more then 4 weeks from the point of the student’s request to informing the student of the outcome in writing.

Course / Module Deferment

Deferment refers to cases where a student delays or postpone the course (or module)

Students who have to defer their modules must write-in / email their request of module deferment at least 14 days before the commencement of module. Relevant authorized documents will have to be submitted alongside the request for module deferment, and this can include:

  • Letter from the Human Resource Department of your company
  • Government or medical / hospitalization records

Requests for deferment done without the necessary supporting documents will not be entertained. All financial obligations, such as the payments for outstanding school fees, will follow the schedule as per the signed Student Contract.

When approved, and if

  • the Student’s original student contract has expired at the point of student student returning from his/her leave of absence, a new PEI-Student Contract will be executed between the Student and ACC Institute of Human Services
  • the Student’s original student contract is still valid even after factoring in the new course completion date, an addendum to the existing contract will be issued

The date of the new module will be provided by the Institute. Deferment is subjected to approval at the sole discretion of the Institute. Upon confirmation that the request for deferment has been granted, the Institute will issue a Letter of Course Deferment Approval.

Terms and Conditions

  • Deferment is allowed only once and module deferment fees will apply. If the student wishes to apply for deferment of any module more than once, the student will need to pay the re-module fee instead of the deferment fee.
  • Requests for deferment are subject to the sole approval and discretion of the Institute
Course Transfer

Transfer refers to cases where a student changes the course or period of study but remains a student of ACC Institute of Human Services.

Students who wish to transfer into another programme halfway through their ongoing programme are to fill up the Programme Transfer Application Form. The completed form is to be submitted to the Student Care Executive via email to studentcare@acc.edu.sg.

When approved, a new PEI-Student Contract will be executed between the Student and ACC Institute of Human Services.

Terms and Conditions

  • Requests for deferment are subject to the sole approval and discretion of the Institute
  • The student may be exempted from modules that he/she has already completed under the existing Programme
  • Depending on the Programme that the student wishes to transfer to, a top-up in the course fee amount may be required
  • There will be no refunds of any fees paid for the course
Course Withdrawal

Withdrawal refers to cases where a student discontinues all courses with ACC Institute of Human Services.

Where the student withdraws from the course for any reason other than non-delivery of course, the student must also include the reason(s) for course withdrawal. Once the student has withdrawn from the enrolled course, the student ceases to be a student of ACC Institute of Human Services.

For all withdrawn students, the Institute will cancel the Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) upon final confirmation of the approval to withdraw by ACC Institute of Human Services within 3 working days.
