Our Counsellors-in-Training

The ACC Institute of Human Services Counselling Practicum Clinic is a practicum site for counsellors-in-training.

All student counsellors have been interviewed and selected by our team, based on their life experiences, prior counselling experiences and more. Throughout their internship at this Counselling Practicum Clinic, they are guided closely by their clinical supervisors through individual and group supervision sessions.

Natalie Tan

Natalie has long had an interest in counselling but it took a personal life event to push her into embarking on this journey seriously. Her focus is on grief and loss as she believes that these are often taken for granted as part and parcel of life.

Jenn Ong

Jenn is a trainee counsellor with ACC Institute of Human Services and is in progress of completing her Advanced diploma in Counselling Psychology. She is a great listener, passionate about counselling, and has a friendly disposition

Karen Soon

Karen is a trainee counsellor with ACC Institute of Human Services and is completing her Masters in Counselling at Monash University. She is passionate about helping others build mental resilience through the reframing of unhelpful thought and behaviour patterns.

Please note, as a Practicum Clinic, we are unable to provide all types of services. Some clients will be better served by being referred to ACC’s professional counselling arm; the Singapore Counselling Centre. We will advise accordingly.

Note:

Regular appointments are arranged between the client and the assigned counsellor. Do note that the counsellors are attached to the Counselling Practicum Clinic for a few months. At the end of their term, the counsellor assigned to you may change. The counsellor will make arrangements with you to complete the counselling or transfer your case to another counsellor.

Each session has a duration of 60 minutes.
